Adobe Spark- ReedGeek Lesson
Hey teachers! I just learned how to use an app called Adobe Spark which is a video that helps you make lessons in video format. This is a great tool to open a class with or post online for students to learn in that capacity. If you had sick students, you could post a video like the one I have below to help them catch up on materials that they may have missed. I am a future music educator and play the clarinet as my primary instrument, so I posted a video about using a tool called the ReedGeek.
What I like so much about Adobe Spark is that it is an easy way to verbally organize information. You can make a simple slide that includes, text, an icon, a picture or short video and then talk over it to explain the information you want your students to receive. Adding all these items is easy to do and not hard to find. When you make a new slide, you'll see the option to add text, an icon, or media. You can find options through Adobe Spark for icons, videos, or photos, or you can pull them off your iPad. Uploading media from your iPad or computer does not take much time at all, so don't worry about it being time consuming.
Making voice recordings is incredibly simple. All you have to do is hold down the button with the microphone icon and your voice will easily go right over the top of whatever slide you are on. Adobe Spark makes it simple for you to do this. The slide you are on will last as long as you talk, so don't worry about overlap. Adobe Spark also helps you make each slide clear and concise so that you don't overwhelm your audience with too much information. In fact, you are limited to 30 seconds per slide. This can be slightly annoying, because as teachers, we have a lot of information to share! However, for the audiences sake and for their ability to understand what we are teaching, this is probably a good thing.
Adobe Spark is a one-of-a-kind app that is great to integrate into the educational setting. Check out my video below so that you can gain and idea of what this app can let you do!
